Yousaf was only 1 year old when he was crawling in his residence. Living in a family where bonding, gatherings & hospitality prioritized. Reflecting true essence of Pakistani Culture when one day in the hustle bustle of guests Yousaf was unattended in Kitchen Area.
The child’s family was occupied hosting guests whereas on the other side little Yousaf fascination grew by gazing at boiling tea bubbles. Our little Yousaf moved towards saucepan, tried to stand & accidentally put his both hands in the boiling tea pan until an elder rescued Yousaf & moved him away.
Yousaf was rushed to hospital. Doctors shocked Yousaf’s parents with the news of cutting little boy’s hands & terming it as a 3rd degree burn. Yousaf parents never gave up hope & visited one doctor after the other until they were directed to Shalamar Hospital.
At only age of 1 & few months, Yousaf was funded for advance treatment, taken to USA for his surgeries & kept in vicinity for 1 year. Yousaf traveled with specialized team of Doctors & spent his time in USA without his family.
This one incident was not only traumatizing for little boy perhaps turned out to be a difficult period for the parents of Yousaf. Brave Yousaf’s hope & resilience made this recovery journey easy.
Now Yousaf is able to write from his hands & in process of recovery.
